Resolve to Do More

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

More! What a great word in the Bible. Jesus came to give us life more abundantly. Our faith is more precious than gold (1 Peter 1:7), and His Word is more to be desired than gold (Psalm 19:10). His blessings to us are more than we can number (Psalm 40:5), so we should praise Him more and more (Psalm 71:14). We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37). He gives more grace (James 4:6), so we should bear more fruit (John 15:2) and labor more abundantly (1 Corinthians 15:10).

Paul said, “We urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more… that you increase more and more” (1 Thessalonians 4:1, 10, emphasis added).

This is the year to take your work for Christ more seriously than ever. We can’t afford to live unprioritized lives. We’re living in the last days, and we should be more diligent than ever in fulfilling God’s plan for every day. Review your calendar and evaluate your schedule. Are there things you need to delete or undertake for Christ? Let’s resolve to do more for the kingdom.

"More about Jesus would I know, more of His grace to others show / More of His saving fullness see, more of His love who died for me. Eliza E. Hewitt, “More About Jesus”
